APPOINTMENTS
There are two ways to make appointments. You may book an appointment by doing one of the following:

  • TRICAREOnline.com (TOL) - TRICARE Online is a secure web portal designed to increase access to care for authorized TRICARE beneficiaries and increase access to information for designated TRICARE physicians and support staff. Visit https://www.tricareonline.com to register.
  • Irwin Army Community Hospital Appointment Line - Call 785-239-DOCS (3627) or 1-888-239-DOCS (3627) Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
NO SHOWS
Irwin Army Community Hospital is asking TRICARE beneficiaries who use IACH to help reduce patient "NO SHOWS".

Patients who neither keep nor cancel their scheduled appointments or who arrive late to their appointments are termed as "NO SHOWS".

In addition to costing the hospital money and resources, failing to cancel also may keep other Soldiers and Family Members from being able to use your appointment slot to receive needed care.

Patient "NO SHOWS" potentially can have a tremendous negative impact upon Medical Treatment Facilities. The potential effects can be: loss of medical staff including physicians, curtailing services, loss of productivity, and patients who need appointments cannot get an appointment.

To cancel an appointment, patients can call 785-239-DOCS (3627), leave a voicemail message at 785-239-8428, cancel their appointment during Irwin Army Community Hospital's automated appointment reminder service, or cancel on TRICARE online if the appointment was booked online.

AUTOMATED APPOINTMENT REMINDER SERVICE
TRICARE beneficiaries who have a medical appointment at Irwin Army Community Hospital or its outlying clinics should receive at least 72 hours prior to their appointment time a reminder telephone call at the contact number in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System reminding them of their appointment. An automated voice message machine reminds the patient of their appointment date and time when he or she picks up the phone or the system will leave a message for the beneficiary. The voice message asks the beneficiary to either confirm or cancel the appointment by pressing a key on their telephone before ending the call. It is very important that the beneficiary make a choice during the call. This enables IACH to optimize appointments that might otherwise go unused.

If you do not choose the right option or if you miss the reminder call, you can cancel by calling 785-239-DOCS (3627) Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. or leave a voicemail message at 785-239-8428. If the appointment was booked using TRICARE online, you can cancel at https://www.tricareonline.com.

To update contact information in DEERS, use the DEERS website at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil or visit Building 212 on Main Post.

Access to Care Standards
Access to Care Standards (ATC) is the time period within which you should receive care for an injury or illness. ATC Standards are as follows:

  • Emergency Care: If you require emergency care, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
  • Urgent Care (Acute): If you require an acute or urgent care appointment (ear ache, high fever, etc), the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) must provide you an appointment within 24 hours at either the MTF or with a civilian provider through a referral.
    ATC Standard: Within 24 Hours
  • Routine Primary Care: If you require an appointment for routine care (flu, colds, allergies, check-ups, etc) the MTF must provide you an appointment within 7 days.
    ATC Standard: Within 7 days
  • Wellness Care: If you require an appointment for a wellness visit, (mammogram, pap smears, physicals, health maintenance, etc), the MTF must provide you an appointment within 28 days.
    ATC Standard: Within 28 days
  • Specialty Care: If you require an appointment for specialty care, (cardiology, orthopedics, podiatry, etc), the MTF must provide you an appointment within 28 days.
    ATC Standard: Within 28 days
  • Follow-up Visits (per medical plan): Access standards do not apply to follow-up visits. The provider requesting the appointment determines the standard.
    ATC Standard: No time limit
