Clinic Statement

The Occupational therapy clinic operates as a specialty clinic. The clinic provides evaluation, diagnosis and rehabilitation services for individuals with a variety of upper extremity disorders as well as post operative upper extremity therapy.

The populations treated by Occupational Therapy at IACH include active duty military and retired service members of all services, their Family members and those designated for care by the hospital command.

The table listed below outlines where service members and their familys should go for OT support. Based off soldiers assignment.

Commonly seen diagnoses:

  • Boutonnière deformity: Is an injury to the tendons in your fingers that usually prevents the finger from fully straightening.

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • De Quervain' s Tenosynovitis: Occurs when the tendons around the base of the thumb are irritated or constricted.

  • Distal Radius Fracture

  • Flexor Tendon: Injuries of fingers, hand, wrist and forearm.

  • Scaphoid Fracture

  • Trigger finger: Limits finger movement. When you try to straighten your finger, it will lock or catch before popping out straight.

  • Ulnar Nerve Entrapment at the Elbow (Cubital Tunnel Syndrome)

  • Wrist Sprains
